Casting has been announced for the upcoming holiday tour of Elf, which will return to the Theater at Madison Square Garden in December. Eric Petersen will star as Buddy, with Tony Award nominee Christiane Noll as Emily.
Elf features songs by Tony Award nominees Matthew Sklar andChad Beguelin ( The Wedding Singer), with a book by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan ( Annie, The Producers, Hairspray) andBob Martin ( The Drowsy Chaperone).
The New York City leg of the tour runs Dec. 9-27 at Theater at Madison Square Garden.
Petersen and Noll will be joined by JB Adams (Santa), Jen Bechter (Deb), Joshua Colley (Michael), Tom Galantich (Walter), Veronica Kuehn (Jovie), Danny Rutigliano (Mr. Greenway) and Arthur Ross (Store Manager).
The cast will also include Tyler Altomari, Darren Biggart, Giovanni Bonaventura, Amanda Braun, Elizabeth Burton, Drew Franklin, Julia Hosack, Paul Ianniello, Chandon Jones, Drew King, Andrew Kreup, Emily Larger, Will Mann, Amy Van Norstrand, Nick Silverio and Dani Spieler.
Similar to last year, Networks will send out two touring companies of Elf. A non-union version will play separate markets.
The musical is described as "the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy's enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas."
